Partner event — Spirit of Water: A Celebration with Mississippi River [RESCHEDULED]
[NOTICE]: This event has been postponed from the original date in June due to inclement weather. We hope you can join us on the new date: August 10, 2024.
This event is co-presented by Resilient Indigenous Sisters Engaging (R.I.S.E. Coalition), Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light and is in partnership with Mississippi River Network's River Days of Action.
This year's community celebration will offer a chance to connect, learn, pray, engage, play, celebrate and honor the spirit of water. Spirit of Water will feature speakers, music, booths, food, art and play areas for children.
The event is designed to highlight the care and responsibility involved in protecting and sharing valuable water resources — like Mississippi River — that in today’s world are often hidden by infrastructure and institutions. The focus is on themes of gratitude, celebration, unity, coming together, the commonality of water as a presence in our life, reverence, respect and honor for our water and all that is sacred.
A full schedule is coming soon! Enjoy the festivities, say hi to FMR or join us for a paddle that ends at Hidden Falls.
